This pass was used by Korean General Ko Chen-Chi who came to Gilgit with Chinese Army from the Central Asian States. After Darkot we will walk for a few days along the Wakhan corridor with excursions of Broghil Pass on the Afghan border. Then we will enter Chitral, two days in Chitral with an excursion to Kalash valley. From Chitral, we will enter Swat valley. The trip will end in Islamabad the capital of Pakistan. As our jeeps take us deep into valleys, we even leave the jeeps to walk through the mountains to feel their grandeur.
Darkot Pass and Karamber Lake situated in between karumber and Yasin valley. This take you through the most desirable rute from Ishkoman to Yasin and karamber valley. The rugged karamber valleylead to some of most scienic places and large alpine meadows used byGujar in Karamber and Wakhi people in Broghil valley. This valley apperantly used the route to Budhist piligrams from Afghanistan Wakhan corridor to Gilgit via Khodarg Werth Pass.
Darkot Pass trek, to cross the snow-covered, but straightforward Darkot and Ishkuman passes before descending to Gilgit . From each of these high passes (c. 4600m.), there are magnificent views towards the mountains of the central Karakoram. Offering a diversity of unspoiled landscape and an interesting mix of cultures, this is exploratory travel at its best, where the people we meet are as curious about us as we are about them.
