THALLAY LA TREK

The trek between Khaplu and Shigar, Thalay La, is known as one of the easiest and most beautiful treks in Baltistan.Thalay La trek in the foot hills of great Karakoram is one of the most popular short treks in Baltistan region which meander through Khaplu and Shigar Valley. These Valleys are very popular for fruit orchards and lush green beauty full of alpine flowers during the summer stopping along the way to take pictures of this extremely photogenic and fertile valley women working in the fields, farmers moving their livestock and children running freely enjoying the warm summer days. The trekking trails runs along the glacial streams and shepherd herds and flower filled pastures. Shigar and Khaplu are also base for climbing peaks of central Karakorum peaks.
Thalay Valley is in Ghanche, Gilgit Baltistan, on the bank of Shyok River, The Shyok River meets Indus river at Keris about 30 kilometers west of Thalay.
Thalay Valley has full of natural resources like pasture, water, wildlife and mineral etc. Thalay valley is distributed in two parts, upper Thalay and lower Thalay. Thalay valley is very beautiful in Baltistan especially Thalay Broq most beautiful tourist resort in Baltistan.
