Pastore Peak is an easy “trekking peak” located near K2 and Broad Peak base camp and a perfect introduction to learn about climbing. Be part to climb on a less travelled trekking peak among the 8000 metre ‘Giants’ of the Karakorum.
The Pastore Peak is located near Concordia at Khalkhal Glacier. The best climbing season is month of June to August each year. Many climbers have climbed this peak
For climbing of Pastore Peak from base camp to summit it will take 10 to 12 hours (Base camp to summit only), depending of the fitness, and experience of the climbers. The Concordia is junction of highest peaks on earth. There are cluster of peaks around concordia. Pastore peak is famous for its easy climb.
Pastore Peak is not a technical peak but you need good stamina for a long day effort while climbing it. You can climb Pastore Peak without any previous climbing experience and skills of using climbing equipment but knowledge on using equipment and previous experience would be beneficial although not mandatory because a pre-ice climbing training is provided to you in Base Camp to make you skillful on using climbing gears such as ropes, ice pick, harness, crampons.
