The name Khosar Gang in the Balti language means “Ice Pumpkin”. The glacier feeds part of the Shigar Valley and Kashmal Village. It is 28 km northwest of District Shigar situated on the left bank of Braldu River. Many supernatural myths and fairy tales are associated with the peaks. Technically it is an easy climb. However, crossing the ice which is mixed with little rocks presents an intermediate or beginner climber with a challenge. Ideal time for the expedition is August to October that can be extended upto November depending on the weather conditions.
On the summit, one can see the beautiful view of K2, Spantik Peak, Nanga Parbat, Masherbrum, Broad Peak and other 6000 m and 7000 m climbed and unclimbed peaks.
